Special Characteristics:

Each of the 16 Eurozone members are permitted to issue one 2 Euro coin design each year. There are strict production limits placed on these coins.
These coins can be used in the same manner as their standard issue counterparts, throughout the Euro Area.
Greece was the first country in the Eurozone to issue a commemorative 2 euro coin, in honor of the 2004 Athens Olympics.
